History of Luis Bernardo Memorial High School

The LUIS BERNARDO MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL, Inc. was founded in 1949 by Dr.ELIAS V. CORVITE of Magdalena, Laguna.

 

   The first building used as classroom and office was the house of Nicolas Mecija located at Ubaldo Suello Street in Luisiana Laguna.Its was then operating under the name CORVITE HIGH SCHOOL was changed to LUIS BERNARDO MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL in memory of the founder of the town of luisiana, spouses Don Luis and Dona Ana Bernardo.

 

   The first graduation was in 1952 by those who transferred from the LAGUNA HIGH SCHOOL in Sta Cruz, Laguna

 

   Thru the years 1950 to 1953, the Luis Bernardo Memorial High School was also operating night classes to provides opportunities for the graduates of the elementary who are working in the day to study in high school.After graduation of the night students, classes held only in the day.

  

 

   The school under the name Luis Bernardo Memorial High School was registered and its incorporation was approved by the Securities and Exchanges Commision in Manila on December 14, 1954 with capitalization of 40,000.00 divided into 8000 shares at 5.00 per share. The incorporators wre all the founders mentioned above.

  

 

   The first Board of trustees was composed by Dr. Elias V. Corvite, Hermino L. Alvarez, Remigio Roasa, Elpidio Ibanez and Gregorio P. Reodica
